Commercial Activity

1.Technology Transfer and Sustainable Workforce Development

Coleg Sir Gar (CSG) of University of Wales Trinity Saint David, had been roped for the mission of ‘Sustainable Workforce Development’ to develop and deliver absorption of technology transfer, training and skill development programmes for Indian MSMEs representing the Automobile Component Industry. For this purpose, a pilot programme was organized by ISEEDS in the National Capital Region identifying the bottlenecks and facilitating growth through programme.

ISEEDS has also developed a publication, presented at the International Conference held by the Indian Institute of Corporate Affairs (IICA), on Interventions to improve MSME eco-system where the publication talks about the need to set up an Advanced Engineering Skills Centre that will serve as an innovative intervention to improve the Vocational Education and Training infrastructure in India that will facilitate the ecosystem of Micro, Small & Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) in India.

2.Facilitating collaborations between Indian and Welsh enterprises for Joint Research & Development and Advanced Manufacturing

ISEEDS has entered into a MoU with Wales Centre for Advanced Batch Manufacture (CBM), UK, which specializes in doctoral-level applied research in the application of advanced technologies to design and manufacturing processes within various sectors, to facilitate commercial collaborations with Indian based companies. CBM’s in-house workshops encompass leading technology platforms to enable the rapid production of prototype and low-volume components in a variety of polymers and metals.

Academic Activity

1. Studying the challenges faced by SMEs and developing case studies

Developing 3 short case-studies on challenges faced by Small & Medium Enterprises in India, growth stories and Best Practices. ISEEDS has currently developed short case studies on a small sample of MSMEs across different sectors such as Handicrafts, Electrical, Manufacturing, Healthcare / Life Science, etc in Delhi-NCR Region, Jaipur and Chandigarh.

2.Developing an optimal Cluster Development Model for Indian SMEs

ISEEDS intends to study and compare various clusters abroad and in India, which have been developed both naturally and by government intervention, in order to develop an optimal cluster development model for the Indian MSMEs.

3. Content Development and improvement in Training Methodology for skill development of Rural Youth.

The skill development scenario in the rural areas has been relatively poor in India in spite of the establishment of Rural Self Employment Training Institutes setup across the country. ISEEDS also intends to work closely with Coleg Sir Gar to work towards developing content and improving the training methodologies of such Rural Self Employment Training Institutes and other such institutions for skill development of Rural Youth.
